整間屋子只用一個顏色，但染了很多層。

灰在沙發上是軟的，在地毯上是粗的，到了石牆變成一條一條的紋。同一個灰，摸起來都不一樣。

黑玻璃後面是書房，光從層板裡透出來。那是屋子裡唯一亮著的深處。

深淺就是層次。一個顏色也能有遠近。

One colour, dyed through the whole apartment in many depths.

Grey is soft on the sofa, coarse in the rug, and striped where it hardens into stone. The same grey, and never the same to the hand.

Behind dark glass lies the study, its shelves lit from within — the one bright depth in the house.

Shade is depth. Even a single colour can have a near and a far.
